SUMMERTIME
2020 / Calabria, Italy
Timeless settings.
Have you ever visited a small town in southern Italy during summertime? Did you notice as in the early afternoon, when the windows are closed to keep out the heat and families sit together for lunch, did you realize how hushed everything is? It seems like every corner in the street is merging in a silent lullaby just to make everything stop, to let everything remain as it is. Similarly, the house interiors share the presence of old objects that have remained unchanged over time. Small boxes, frames, mats, cotton blankets: intact memories of distant lives. Decorating an interior sometimes means collecting these memories together, gathering small objects from the past to reinvent them in new settings. The decoration of an interior becomes the poetry of different eras that meet in a timeless space. A story that evolves to always remain the same in our heart.
